MY FIRST SOLO!!!

First time I ever did a musical solo was using my clarinet on 6th of December 2009. I went there and played my clarinet in front of a whole entire church congregation!!!! It was really scary!!! It was really cool!!! I played the African version of "O little Town" a Christmas carol.

Getting sick sucks

Getting sick sucks.
Especially right after a trip.

I came back from a wonderful trip from Vietnam and slept in my own room, house, and bed. Ahhhhhh,,, Home Sweet Home.

Bad news is, I had a huge ulcer, and my tonsils were "inflamed and infected" so says the doctor. So now whenever I swallow, it hurts, like a sore throat, but drinking water helps a lot. The doctor gave me some antibiotics(Augmentin) and some medicine so I'm getting a bit better now.
The second piece of bad news is that Augmentin is HUGE!!! Take your thumb, from the top to your knuckle, that's about how big it is. About an inch long.

To solve this problem, I just cut the antibiotic in half and eat it in two pieces.
The ulcer is still there but my throat is getting better now.

Mikado

No big deal, its just the school play. It's something small and fun to do.........
It's just small-scale with whatever costumes we can rustle up from the old Drama Closet.
This time around, we're doing a play called the Mikado.(look it up on google) There are like a whole ton of different versions of this play but we're doing a simple one.

So, usually its small-scale...... But.................
Mom went overboard. It was really awesome. She went and did all this different stuff that------ im not really going to talk about too much cause it really was overboard and too much stuff but in the end it really was awesome------

But, It still does look really nice.

Apart from my really AWESOME drawing, dad also brought something extremely interesting home. It was placed in this big box that had a sticker that said CAUTION! FRAGILE.
When I asked dad what it was, he said "It's a ship!"

When dad said "Ship" I thought of humongous parts to build a humongous ship because I had just watched pirates of the Caribbean 2 on TV. It took a little adjusting until I realized " Ohhhhh! It's a SMALL ship."

School Teachers

The summer holidays are over. School has started. During the summer holidays, you want school. During school, you want the holidays. Its a never ending cycle. So school started and I have a group of same teachers and a group of new teachers. One of the new teachers is our PE teacher, Mr Thomas. At school, we don't really like him and we always say that the old PE teacher is a lot better then Mr Thomas because Mr Thomas makes us run lots of laps outside and is kind of mean to us. But..... Some people say Mr Thomas is better then our old Pe teacher and he really is a fun teacher to be with. As a result, we always end up in arguments in the locker room about which teacher is better until Mr Thomas himself comes in and asks us what we are talking about. When he does that, we all just say "Nothing Mr Thomas!!!" and he is like "Okay but you guys are really loud. Tone it down a little."

That happened about three or four times before we actually stopped arguing. After that, we just kept our opinions to ourselves. Another one of our new teachers is the Math teacher. Mr Bullock. He is kind of fun and does a lot of activities but sometimes he is mean to us. By mean its like assigns us homework pretty much everyday. We just had one day of no math homework last friday and we celebrated like crazy. You could hear people saying "No MAth Homework today! First time in the quater!!! Yahoo!!!!" And other stuff like that.

The last new teacher is Mr Smith. He teaches us Social Studies (Which is like History) and is a really fun guy. In my opinion, he is the best teacher of all the three new teachers at this school. I enjoy to be around him cause he talks very humorously and gives lots of funny examples. He is a bit strict sometimes but all the students in class like him because he doesn't give much homework. But, he does give lots of hard quizzes but if you study for the quizzes you can get really good grades easily because quizzes are worth 40% of your grade in his classes.

That's the three new teachers at school and my opinion of them.
THE END

Ooops!

Yesterday night, mom, loon, and me decided to eat pizza for dinner tonight. So we decided that Mom would buy the pizza for us!

At around 6:00pm, I hear Loon shout "Huah!" I ask him "What is it?"
But he doesn't answer me.

Later, at around 6:15, I ask him again

"Loon, just now about 15 minutes ago, were you talking to somebody?"
He said "yeah, I talk to mom on the phone"
I ask " What were you talking about?? "
He replies " Mom bought 2 large pizzas, 2 regular pizzas, and 3 side orders. Also, we forgot to tell
that don't need to cook tonight!"

Ooops!

But, it all turned out to be okay because we invited Charlie over to help us eat some of the food
and he brought some of it back to his home.

Buying a matress

This morning, I woke up at around 9:15. Mom, dad, and I went out for breakfast.
Dad drove us to Island Glades to eat breakfast. I ate Loh Mee while dad ate curry mee.
We shared a Lo Ma Kai together.

Then, Mom wants to go buy a mattress!!!
Yesterday, mom didnt want to buy a mattress.
Today, mom wants to buy a mattress.

So we drive around town looking for bed/furniture shops, Every single furniture/bed shop we see is closed. For some reason, we drive home. Then, after 10 minutes, we drive back out.

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

We go to a bed shop near greenlane to look at mattreses, I read a book i brought from home while dad and mom talk to the sales woman. We spend about twenty minutes there ( and we still havent bought a mattress ) then we have to go to the shopping complex. I don't know the name for this shopping complex but it was where Metro used to be.

We go in there for about 10 minutes looking at DVD players and then we go back home. Back home, we rush and pack dad's stuff and eat lunch really quickly to send dad to the airport. Dad's flight was not delayed and dad had to rush there because they were putting out the final call.

Dad made the flight and we went home.

Queensbay/PISA fair

Yesterday, I wake up at around 9:15 and I remember that mom wants to listen to Lillian Too ( some Feng Shui expert ) give a talk about the Feng Shui of some houses in Penang. Because of that, we go to queensbay to eat breakfast which is really lunch because at this point it's is almost 11:00.

Mom says that the talk is probably going to be only half an hour so I go to Borders and wait, while reading books.

I wait for about another six hours.

While waiting, I read three books. The New Rebellion, Invincible, and Inferno.

Finally, after reading those three books, I call mom. Mom says that she was buying stuff from Jusco for Loon to use when he goes back to the U.S and that the talk only lasted for half an hour.

I meet mom at Jusco and we both go and look at the Nokia N97 phone that just came out. After that, we go to Coffee Bean and drink Pure Chocolate and a Tea Latte. AFter we finish our drinks, we leave queensbay to go and pick Dad up from the airport. Once we pick dad up, we go home and bathe.

Immediatly after that, mom says that we should go to PISA to look for a mattress.
We go to PISA and walk a full circle around the entire PISA fair looking and stopping at many stalls around the fair. Once we walk a full circle, Mom says that " Oh, I dont want to buy mattress anymore."

Then, we go to queensbay ( AGAIN ) and eat dinner at Dragon-i.

Lastly, we go home and I play chess against my brother, I win!!!!!
Then, I sleep

Chess!!!

Chess is a really great game, there's tons of strategies, techniques, gambits, and set-ups that you can use while playing Chess but there's only one objective.

1. Kill the opponents king while protecting your king

Yesterday night I was playing Chess wil my classmate Allen. I was playing with him online on a website called www.chesscube.com

we played about 5-6 matches and I lost four but he lost two. Both of us lost because of lack of time, instead of a checkmate. At first we were playing at a five minute timer, but then Allen said he wanted to play at one minute. We played at one minute for one game, and we played for ten seconds for another game. I lost both those games.

After I lost, Allen showed me a setting that let me decide what move i would do before it was my turn. He used that setting so that he could use less time and he won using that setting.

Hope I can play a real game of chess against him in real life again.
( I already did last year )

Vietnam

Yesterday, when I was leaving Vietnam, on the way to Vietnam Airport. I saw the road was completely flooded. When I saw the flood, I asked Dad how long it would take to reach the Airport. Dad said that because it was raining, it would probbably take 40 minutes.

We reached the airport in less then half an hour. At the airport, mom, dad, and I just sat at one of the benches and talked. Mom and Dad said that I would have to improve my writing a lot and that I should start blogging again to improve my writing. They said that I would have to post one thing for everyday.

Then, it was time to go. The flight was uneventful and on the way home I watched Ocean's Thirteen on the flight from Vietnam to Singapore. ( Mom and I took Singapore Airlines to Vietnam and back ) On the flight from Singapore to Penang however, I slept for the first half of the flight and on the second half I couldnt sleep at all. ( There was no movie to watch on this flight)

After that, we took a taxi home and once we reached home, we showered, ate maggi mee, played a game of chinese chess and slept.

Mom's birthday

The last post i posted on my blog was of my dad's birthday.

Now, this post is about my mom's birthday.

Dad bought some flowers for mom and arranged them in a vase, they look pretty cool.

We also took pictures of the cake that my dad bought for my mom.

Birthday

Yesterday dad came back from the airport, when he starts driving home mom starts talking about whether we should go now, or go later. Dad asks go where??? although he already knows what we're talking about. Mom asks " should we drop dad home first? I think we should just go straight there. " Then Dad says " now so early, not yet 9:00 " because he figured out we were talking about going to Equatorial hotel to buy the cake for Dad's birthday. So in the end we went straight to Equatorial and dropped mom off, then dad and me just sat in the car and talked.

After mom got the cake, we went home and ate it up.

Fish

Fish.
Usually, i hate fish because of all the bones you have to pick out.

But......... In Vietnam, dad took me out to eat at a japanese restaurant, there I ordered the unagi with rice dish as usual.

Dad ordered fish head.

I was like "ugh, that's disgusting" until his dish came.
It was the best fish I had ever eaten, apart from the really REALLY fresh fish in port dickson.

2 weeks later when dad is in vietnam ( now, May 2nd) dad says he's going to cook fish head for mom and me. I ask "have you ever cooked it before?"
He replies "nope"
I ask "with you cooking, will it taste good?"
He replies " if it doesn't taste good, then it's bad ingredients."

During dinner
Me: the fish head a bit to oily
Dad: Yeah,
Me: I thought if you cook then no problem???
Dad: I didn't put so much oil! Mom put all the oil !!

LOL
Fish tastes pretty good except got A LOT of extra oil.

ScienceFair

ScienceFair was held last Tuesday in the middle school building.

My analysis : 7th grade pro

8th grade not pro

6th grade not pro

6th grade only did a powerpoint presentation and 8th grade didn't seem to actually know their topic.

Conversation with a 8th grader

Me: So how does your experiment work?

8th Grader: I dont know.....

Me: okay.......

End of conversation.

My experiment is about wind turbines and how they harness electricity so my group build a small mini wind turbine and i brought a small light to show the amount of electricity generated from a tiny fan can actaull light up a LED ( light emmiting diode )

Vietnam

Now in Vietnam for Easter Holidays......

Went to a complex called Ming Long complex where all the shops sell pottery.

Dad wanted me to paint a cup, plate, or bowl which they provided. The shop provided nothing but paint, a pencil, and the object that you wanted to paint for a cost......

No one was there to actually teach me how to paint the plate which I chose but mom and I met a friendly woman that taught me how to paint and draw a sketch of my plate design.

In the end i just drew a rabbit and some flowers........

The way i painted the rabbit and flowers made it look boring.

The complex also had some sort of weird waterfall thing with fake plastic fish inside the pool and lights. These are some pictures of the waterfall.

BADMINTON IS AWESOME

Mom wants me to learn badminton.

I learned for 4 lessons.

On my third lesson I played against my teacher.

I lost badly.

Really badly.

21-3 badly lost.

On my fourth lesson I played agains my teacher.

I barely won.

Barely won.

Deuce 8 times barely won.'

Now i'm gonna play with dad tomorrow.

Drama

On Friday I had my Drama performance.
I didn't mess up but someone else did so I didn't get a chance to say my line but the audience didn't notice.

It wasn't really scary because I had already done it before.

In fact it was a bit boring...........................

But this time I outdid myself.

In school I was supposed to make an art drawing using pencil and tape.

It sounds "different" but it actuallylooks good.

Public Speaking

Some time ago, mom asked me to go attend a public speaking workshop
.My mind immediatly flashed BORING in my head.
Still, I went to the workshop and did crazy / fun stuff with my group.
We made a mindmap about any picture that we found in the Star newspaper provided to us.
Later, we would say a speech about our mindmap.
Almost everysingle group made a mindmap about VALENTINES DAY because the newspaper given to us was old.
My crazy/insane group did a picture about CHICKEN ABUSE


I was laughing hysterically.

Then I realized they weren't joking.


I shut up.

The Speech leader started by saying "30 million die in freak storm, 8 million die everyday!"

Then, he said "What if i were to tell you that all these deaths, were chicken?? "

Everyone in the room cracked up and laughed as he showed out our group mind map/ poster with a humongous chick on the front.


All in all,
It was a fun day.

My Mountain Project

Last week i had to make a model of a mountain for my Social Studies project..... My brother told me about paper machete and my mom decided to use paper machete as my mountain.

It took about a week to completely finish my project. The first 4 days were putting paper machete and drying it. The last 3 days were researching for my paragraph, painting, and touching up.

The teacher asked for a short well typed paragraph explaning what the model was so mom decide to make a 400 word paragraph..........

In the end one of the hardest part was just transporting the thing to school.

We had to go no faster then 50km because mom was worried about damaging the model that I had "put so much effort in to" so we had to wake up really early.

Running

It's funny.
The more you do it the less you hurt.
But, at that time it doesnt seem so.

Running really hurts.

I had my 4 lap run yesterday ( almost a mile ) and im going to run my mile on friday. My four lap time was 6 minutes and 35 seconds so im aiming for a 8 - 9 minute mile time. My previous mile run time was about 10 minutes........

Im just hoping ill do well on my mile run.

My Christmas Dinner

My Christmas eve dinner took place at my home on the month of December.My aunt and my cousin came over from Kuala Lumpur for Christmas so they helped us cook dinner for the party.
